Vietnamese cuisine made by rice and glutinous rice flavors

Traditional Vietnamese cuisine cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of dairy and oil, complementary textures, and reliance on herbs

Bánh xèo

Bánh xèo is a delectable pork-and-shrimp crêpe flavored with turmeric and packed with bean sprouts for people who would rather have a savory pancake than a sweet one. Don’t be misled by its wholesome appearance; the precise translation of bánh xèo is “sizzling cake,” which alludes to the sound it makes when frying.

Cơm tấm

It’s rice that wasn’t fit for selling, so farmers kept it for themselves or sold it for cheap while Vietnam’s economy was struggling. A com tam shop may now be found on almost every street in the United States. Millions of people eat it for lunch: a bed of rice with greens and a variety of meats, the most frequent of which being pig.

Bột chiên

One of our all-time favorite recipes is bot chiên. It’s fantastic. It consists of crunchy fried rice flour cubes topped with eggs and green onions. Although most people eat it for breakfast, we eat it at any time of day. We jam on the breaks whenever we’re riding around on our motorcycle and see a bt chiên food cart. That’s how good it is.

Hu tieu

This is one of Vietnam’s more ambiguous foods, with a range of different recipes popping up all throughout the country. (In truth, Cambodia and China have their own variants of the dish.) Hu tieu can be simply characterized as “pork bone soup,” but it appears that everything from the type of noodles to the meat used varies from location to place.

All we know is that every single waffle is delicious.

Banh cuon
These little rolls of heaven are filled with seasoned pork and finely chopped wood ear mushrooms, wrapped in steamed, fermented rice batter, and dunked in a fish sauce dip. The appeal of this dish is not only the great taste, but also the intriguing way it’s made. Patrons can often watch their host steaming the extremely delicate pancakes moments before their dish is served.

Pho
Flat rice noodles, a warming broth, and generally chicken or beef go into this national favorite. The flavor of this hearty noodle soup varies widely across the country, and many restaurants provide a variety of sauces, herbs, and spices so you can season your pho to your liking.

Bun cha

This meal is usually made with tender grilled pork, fresh noodles, and fish sauce, as well as diced papaya, carrots, and herbs. Customers frequently partake in part of the cooking process by dipping new noodles into a bowl of hot soup. If you’re having trouble finding bun cha, you may occasionally find it advertised under the name ‘Obama noodles’, since a certain someone visited Vietnam and ate the dish in 2016.
